Light-duty towing
Cars, SUVs and pickups that will not start or should not be driven, towed home or to your shop. AWD vehicles ride on a flatbed.
See light-duty towingOur towing trucks cover Wheat Ridge, CO around the clock, from stalls in the I-70 merge to fender benders at a Wadsworth Boulevard light. They come down the I-70 hill from our yard in Evergreen.
Most Wheat Ridge calls start with an exit number or a cross street. Tap the plate closest to you. Each card says what that spot is like and what dispatch will ask, so the truck shows up on the right side of the road.
This is the west edge of town. Exit 264 puts you on Youngfield Street, with access to 32nd Avenue and Clear Creek Drive. Exit 265 is where CO 58 splits off toward Golden. Two exits sit close together here, so drivers are sorting lanes, and a stall often ends up on a ramp or in the painted area between lanes.
Headed on toward the canyon? Our Golden towing page covers CO 58 and the roads past it.
Call dispatch 24/7Exit 266 is a folded diamond where Ward Road and 44th Avenue meet the interstate. Through here, I-70 is the line between Wheat Ridge and Arvada. Telling us which side of the highway you are on saves the driver a loop through the interchange.
Kipling Street (CO 391) crosses I-70 at a diamond interchange and runs south through Wheat Ridge past 44th and 38th avenues. Ramp signals, short merges and heavy commuter traffic make a dead engine or a flat tire here a quick problem for everyone behind you.
I-76 joins I-70 here, and westbound I-70 widens to five lanes. Exit 269A for Wadsworth Boulevard (CO 121) comes off a separate roadway that carries traffic from both interstates. It is one of the busiest places in town to break down.
Exit 270 serves Harlan Street and 48th Avenue at the east edge of town. Harlan runs south to the shopping area at 44th Avenue. Calls around here are often parking lot jobs: a battery that died during errands, keys locked inside, or a flat found after shopping.
The Wadsworth rebuild between 35th Avenue and I-70 made 44th and Wadsworth a continuous-flow intersection. Left turns cross to the far side of the road at their own signal before the main light, and raised medians now split the directions. A tow truck cannot swing across to reach you, so your direction of travel matters.
38th Avenue and Wadsworth is the second continuous-flow intersection from the same project. 38th runs east and west through the middle of town, so this light sees cross-town and through traffic at once. After a minor crash here, if both cars still drive safely, pull onto a side street or into a lot before you call.
Wheat Ridge towing is not like our canyon work. The roads are flat and wide, but they are packed. I-70 and I-76 carry the commute, and Wadsworth, Kipling, Youngfield and Harlan carry it the last mile. The calls look different too: stalls in traffic, minor crashes, flat tires, dead batteries, and lockouts in parking lots.
Winter here is mostly a stoplight and on-ramp problem. The Colorado traction law zone on I-70 runs from Dotsero east to Morrison, so it ends a few exits west of town. If you commute up the hill, check your tires before you leave Wheat Ridge.
After a minor crash on a divided highway, a median or a ramp, Colorado law asks drivers to move vehicles that can still be driven safely out of the travel lanes.
Our yard is at 30495 Bryant Dr in Evergreen, up the I-70 hill past the Mount Vernon Canyon grade. Wheat Ridge sits at the bottom of that hill, inside the 50-mile radius we cover in Colorado.
What you get for the drive is a family-owned company that has towed in the foothills since 1984, WreckMaster and I-TECC certified operators, and a dispatcher who answers 24 hours a day. If the trouble started on the way up the mountain, our I-70 corridor towing page covers the interstate from Sheridan Boulevard to the Central City Parkway.
