Open corridorMost foothill calls come off four highways. Choose yours to see the exits and turnoffs in order, so you can tell dispatch exactly where you stopped.
A flat-ground tow and a foothill tow are different jobs. Here is what our drivers plan for before they hook up.
Loaded trucks that overheat or lose brakes on the I-70 descent need heavy-duty towing, not a car carrier. Tell us the truck type and whether it is loaded.
Evergreen sits at about 7,160 feet and Bailey near 7,740. Ice on steep driveways and canyon curves brings slide-offs that often need a winch-out, not a tow.
US 285 curves and the CO 74 canyon leave little room, so the truck is placed to protect the scene before the hookup starts.
From September 1 to May 31 the Colorado traction law is in effect on I-70 between Dotsero and Morrison, and CDOT can turn it on for other state highways in a storm.
"Was broke down on a not great part of 285, hardly a shoulder, then up hill from there, on a curve, in a rain storm. Jeremiah was there super quick and was so nice in a stressful situation. I really appreciate him. Thank you so much!"
A curve, no shoulder, and rain: the kind of US 285 call our drivers handle every season.
Our yard on Bryant Drive puts every road on this page within reach. CO 74 runs through town, the Evergreen Parkway climbs north to I-70, and CO 73 drops south to US 285 at Conifer. We have run towing out of Evergreen since 1984.
From here we cover the foothills with 24/7 emergency towing, flatbed towing for AWD and low vehicles, winch-outs, accident recovery, and heavy-duty and semi-truck towing. Roadside calls include jump starts, tire changes, battery installation, and lockouts. We serve AAA members, and our approved storage yard releases vehicles 24/7.
These come up on almost every mountain call. Anything else, dispatch will answer on the phone.
Yes. Our Colorado coverage runs 50 miles from the Evergreen yard, so smaller places along these roads, such as Idledale, Indian Hills, Pine Junction, and Genesee, are inside it. If you are not sure, call (303) 674-0198 and dispatch will confirm.
If anyone is hurt or your vehicle is blocking traffic, call 911 first. Then turn on your hazard lights and call us. Many slide-offs on CO 74, US 285, and steep driveways only need a winch-out, not a tow.
Yes. Heavy-duty and semi-truck towing are part of our work, including trucks that break down on the Mount Vernon Canyon grade. Tell dispatch the truck type, whether it is loaded, and your exit or mile marker.
When it is active, you need mountain-snowflake, M+S or all-weather tires with at least 3/16-inch tread, a 4WD or AWD vehicle with that tread, or chains or an approved traction device. It is in effect on I-70 between Dotsero and Morrison from September 1 to May 31. If your vehicle gets stuck anyway, call us for a winch-out or tow.
From Black Hawk down to Bailey, one call reaches D&J dispatch. Tell us the highway, your direction, and the last exit or cross road, and we will send the right truck.
