Exit 1Tows and pricing factors

How much does a tow cost?

We do not post a flat towing rate, because no two calls are the same. The price depends on how far the vehicle goes, the size and class of the vehicle, how hard the recovery is, the time and road conditions, and the equipment the job takes. Call (303) 674-0198 with your location and vehicle, and dispatch can quote the job before the truck heads your way.

Are you really open 24 hours a day?

Yes. Dispatch answers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, holidays included.

Should my all-wheel-drive car go on a flatbed?

Usually, yes. A flatbed carries the whole vehicle with all four wheels off the road, which is the safer way to move most all-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive vehicles, low sports cars and classics. Tell dispatch the make and model, and we will send flatbed towing when the vehicle needs it.

My car slid off the road. Do I need a tow or a winch-out?

Often a winch-out is all it takes. If the vehicle is stuck in a ditch, a snowbank or soft ground but still drives, we pull it back onto the road and you can go. If it is damaged or will not run after the pull, we tow it instead.

How long will it take you to reach me?

It depends on where you are, the weather and traffic at that moment, so we do not list a standard arrival time. Call, and dispatch will give you an honest estimate for your location.

Exit 2Roadside help

Do I always need a tow?

No. Our roadside assistance covers jump starts, battery installation, tire changes and vehicle lockouts, so a fixable problem gets fixed where you are. If the fix does not hold, we can tow the vehicle instead.

Can you change a big tire on a lifted truck?

Yes. We have changed large tires on lifted trucks, including a 35-inch tire for a driver when everywhere else was closed. Tell dispatch the tire size and whether you have a usable spare.

My keys are locked in the car. Can you help?

Yes. Vehicle lockouts are part of our roadside work. If a child or a pet is locked inside and in danger, call 911 first, then call us.

What if a jump start does not get my car running?

Then the battery may be finished. We offer battery installation at the roadside. If the problem is something else, such as the starter or the alternator, we tow the vehicle to your shop or your home.

Exit 3Heavy-duty and hauling

Do you tow semis, buses and commercial trucks?

Yes. D&J handles light-, medium- and heavy-duty towing, including semi trucks, box trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles. Tell dispatch the unit type, whether it is loaded, and where it sits.

Can you move heavy equipment?

Yes. We do heavy equipment hauling, equipment transport and offloading, plus recovery when a machine is stuck or tipped. For a planned move, have the machine type, its weight, the pickup and drop-off locations and your dates ready.

Do you work in Wyoming?

Yes, for heavy-duty work. We provide heavy-duty towing, recovery and hauling across southeastern Wyoming and the I-25 corridor, including Wheatland, Chugwater, Douglas, Torrington, Laramie and Cheyenne.

Do you set up accounts for fleets?

Yes. We support commercial fleets, so your drivers know exactly who to call when a unit goes down. Call (303) 674-0198 or email djtowing699@gmail.com to talk about an account.

Exit 4Impounds and accidents

What should I do right after an accident?

Get everyone to a safe spot if you can. Call 911 if anyone is hurt or a vehicle is blocking traffic. Then call us for accident recovery, and tell dispatch where the vehicle is and where you want it to go.

Where does my vehicle go after an accident tow?

An accident vehicle can be stored at our approved storage yard in Evergreen while it waits for the insurance adjuster, who typically inspects it 2 to 5 days after the accident. From our yard, an accident vehicle can only be towed to an auto body shop or a private residence.

Is your impound yard open after hours?

Release runs around the clock. Office hours are weekdays 7 AM to 5 PM and Saturdays 9 AM to 5 PM, and a release outside those hours carries an after-hours charge. Our impound page lists what to bring.

Who pays for an accident tow and storage?

Usually your insurance claim. The towing and storage charges are added to the final bill that your deductible is paid on, so there is generally no immediate out-of-pocket cost.

Exit 5Payment and service area

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, Mastercard and Visa.

What areas do you cover?

Our home base is Evergreen. In Colorado we cover about a 50-mile radius: Conifer, Kittredge, Morrison, Golden, Littleton, Bailey, Black Hawk, Wheat Ridge and the foothill communities around them, along I-70, US 285, CO 74 and CO 119. See all of our service areas, including the Wyoming towns we cover for heavy-duty work.

Do you offer snow plowing?

Yes, in Colorado. Snow plowing is a smaller side of our work, so call (303) 674-0198 to ask whether we can cover your driveway or lot.

Do you work with AAA?

Yes. D&J serves AAA members through auto club towing. You can also call us directly at (303) 674-0198, any hour.

Can I email you instead of calling?

For anything urgent, call (303) 674-0198 so dispatch can act right away. For planned moves, fleet accounts and general questions, email djtowing699@gmail.com or use our contact page.

MM02Pricing factors

What decides the price of a tow

We quote each call on the facts of the job instead of a posted rate. A short flatbed ride across Evergreen and a loaded truck pulled from a snowy ditch are different jobs. Five things move the number.

Miles
Distance

Miles from pickup to drop-off, and how far the truck travels to reach you.

Class
Vehicle size and class

A compact car, a loaded pickup, a box truck and a semi each call for a different truck and different gear.

Grade
Recovery difficulty

A vehicle on the shoulder loads quickly. One down an embankment, on its side or buried in snow takes rigging and time.

Time
Time and conditions

The hour, weather, traffic and road, from I-70 to a canyon two-lane, change how a job is worked.

Gear
Equipment needed

Flatbed, wrecker, winch work or a heavy-duty unit: the equipment the job calls for is part of the price.

"D&J pulled my jackknifed truck and trailer out of a snowy ditch and got us down the hill safely. They were fast, easy to work with, up for a challenge and very friendly and helpful. 10/10 would be towed by them again if needed!"

Five details that speed up your quote

Dispatch prices each job from the facts above. Have these ready and the quote comes faster. If anyone is hurt or a vehicle is blocking traffic, call 911 first.

  1. Pickup spot

Mile marker, exit, cross street or a dropped pin. It sets the distance.

  2. Vehicle class

Year, make and model, plus anything that changes the truck: all-wheel drive, lifted, loaded or pulling a trailer.

  3. How it sits

On the shoulder, in a ditch, on its side or in snow. This decides the recovery work.

  4. Drop-off

Your home, your shop or our storage yard. It sets the tow distance.

  5. How you pay

Cash, Mastercard or Visa. If you are a AAA member, say so when you call.
