If your vehicle is in the D&J Towing impound yard, you can get it back any hour of any day. This page covers the release hours, what to bring, and what happens next when an accident vehicle is stored with us.
The paperwork depends on how the vehicle leaves our yard. Pick the option that fits and you will see exactly what the driver needs on hand at pickup.
Release is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Outside regular office hours, a $66 after-hours charge applies.
Call before you comeRight after a crash there are a lot of questions and what feels like a lot of decisions. Having your vehicle towed to our approved storage yard takes the immediate ones off your plate while you deal with what matters more. If you need the tow itself, see accident recovery.
D&J brings the vehicle from the scene to our approved storage yard, where it waits safely.
Typically, the insurance company sends an adjuster to our yard 2 to 5 days after the accident to look over the damage.
The adjuster calls you to go over your options, and you decide whether the vehicle is repaired or totaled.
Once you decide, the insurance company has a tow truck take the vehicle to its repair destination.
This works especially well when you carry full coverage. There is generally no immediate out-of-pocket expense: the towing and storage charges are added into the final bill, which is the bill you pay your deductible on. Questions about your claim? Call us at (303) 674-0198 and we will walk you through where your vehicle stands.
Towing is a necessity, and so is driving. Part of keeping roads safe is removing vehicles from roadways and other areas after an unplanned event, and keeping those vehicles secure until their owners can collect them. Common reasons a vehicle comes to our yard:
We know we are often meeting you at a low point, during an unfortunate and sometimes tragic event, and the impound bill can feel overwhelming on top of everything else. Being reasonable with our fees matters as much to us as it does to you. Operating and maintaining the trucks, insuring the trucks and the impound yard, and paying a professional staff are some of the costs behind this service, and all of them are weighed when we set our fees.
We are a locally owned company, and customer service comes first. If something on your bill is unclear, ask us and we will explain it. You can read more about D&J Towing or see what other drivers say in our reviews.
"Jeremiah arrived promptly as arranged and did a textbook job getting my vehicle on the newer looking flatbed truck, making sure that he had hooked-up 4 very solid points of contact on the tow vehicle. He was very knowledgeable about his job and was informed about the body shop location and asked about the individual that I had been working with there."
Still not sure what applies to your vehicle? Call dispatch and we will look it up. For general towing questions, see our towing FAQs.
Yes. Vehicles can be released 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Regular hours are 7 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday and 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturday. Any release outside those hours carries a $66 after-hours charge.
The driver needs a valid driver's license on their person, valid proof of insurance, and valid registration for the vehicle.
If the vehicle is leaving on a tow truck, you only need a valid ID.
An accident vehicle can only be towed to an auto body shop or a private residence.
Generally, no. Especially with full coverage insurance, there is usually no immediate out-of-pocket expense. The towing and storage charges are added into the final bill that you pay your deductible on.
Typically 2 to 5 days after the accident. The adjuster inspects the vehicle at our yard and then calls you to discuss your options.
A quick call lets us confirm your vehicle is ready, tell you the total, and have the release paperwork waiting. After hours, it lets dispatch get someone to the yard for you. If your vehicle still needs a tow from the scene, the same number reaches 24/7 emergency towing.
